However, in English the word Raga is given as the title of the book, the Granth sahib. The word “Raga” is used in Punjabi to denote royalty. The second turn appears in the title given to the book of Sukhmani, in the Punjabi language. Therefore, when the name Sukhmani is written in English it means the final and ultimate guru Granth sahib. The name Sukhmani is given to the book by Guru Nanak in his book, Nanak Mehta. In the English language the word Raga is used for the name of the guru Granth sahib but in the Sikh language Raga is used for the book.
